arl Nowotny and Jacqueline de Durand-Forest provide a somewhat more ample and interpretative account of Codex Borbonicus, which is a colonial document but which follows its pre-Spanish prototype almost exactly. Nowotny identifies the subdivisions and the Aztec deities and rituals depicted, and Ms. Durand-Forest furnishes a brief ‘codicological’ description relating chiefly to the colours and the condition of the paper.
