essinese Jacopo Russo achieved this 407 x 270 mm atlas in 1521, following the models and patterns of coeval Mediterranean cartographic schools. It is formed of twelve pates glued on cardboard, richly illuminated and framed with gold and deep blue ornaments, and describing the coasts of Europe, Africa and Asia. In particular, the maps of Italy, the Aegean Sea, the Atlantic coasts and Southern Africa stand out for their illuminations and toponymic wealth.
The facsimile edition, in the same size as the original atlas, is provided with the 18th century red leather binding, with golden edges. The leather case, bearing a golden stample, includes a commentary volume and a certificate of authenticity.
