Fundamental characteristics of the work are the precision and the pleasantness of the realistic sketches using a water-colour technique. An unusual aspect of the work is the fact that the author has held in so much esteem the illustrators and engraver to put their portraits in the frontispiece close to his own.

The anastatic copy is a faithful reproduction of the original showing all the imperfections and restorations of the herbarium.

The facsimile is identical size to the original. 898 pages in folio (28,5 x 35 cm) with 517 tables and 343 species. Glossary with 125 terms. Analytical index in Greek, Latin, German of the entries. Paper lined type corolla-book, premium white. Valuable binding in imitation bordeaux leather, with 7 cords of reinforcement in the spine, with the reliefs of Fuchs and his collaborators. Edited by Duilio Contin and Alessandro Menghini, contained in an unique elegant casket.

This work was famous for centuries with the text being translated into many languages. Today, the author and his work are recognised by the flower "Fuchsia", a plant discovered in 1703 in Santo Domingo and dedicated to Leonhart Fuchs
