[F]aces. How to calculate the exact number of the "Faces of Christ", considering everyone aspires to know, what is the true image?

This great publishing event reassumes the most sacred of the human and divine stories, with a meaningful selection images of the "Faces of Christ". An exceptional commitment, and one achieved with great excellence: first the selection of the images, to select these Faces among the thousands possible; then the agreements with museums and collectors around the world to get the rights to reproduce for the publication; finally the desire to produce images of extraordinary quality thanks to the special techniques utilised. Superior reproductions in which it is possible to see the smallest detail, every fold of skin, every tone in the landscape.

The scientific texts accompanying the volume have been entrusted to Gerhard Wolf for the introduction and for the description of the individual works, Ludovica Sebregondi. Gerhard Wolf, a leading expert on the theme, is director of the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florence Max-Planck-Institut, author of many books and studies, as well as administrator of conferences and shows. Among his achievements is the organisation of the year 2000 exhibition on the occasion of the Jubilee of the Apostolic Library in the Vatican. Ludovica Sebregondi, lecturer on the History of Art in the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Florence, has to his credit numerous volumes of iconografics and religious history. Together the two researchers have completed the select iconografics, gathering and ordering the works that illustrate the extraordinary enigma of the Face of Faces.
