His writings are part of humanity's patrimony proven by the numerous translations and productions of his works both inside and outside Spain.

In the works of Calderón de la Barca there are a plurality and variety of levels and registrations that take you from the deepest philosophical drama and political tragedy to comedy that sometimes makes fun of their own theatrical system or of their serious dramas.

El Secreto a Voces is one of the most important and well-known comedies of Calderón de la Barca. An excellent and outstanding example of the tangled comedy that introduces the reader to an exciting world of deceits, tricks, misunderstandings..., by reason of love. It is a beautiful comedy of love, with all the tangles, the intrigues, the deceits... that will finishes happily, with beautiful verse of the author who was one of the principle writers of the Baroque.

The misfortune of El Secreto a Voces shows us the best Calderón in the theater of complicated dramatic intrigues, with crossings of loves, misunderstandings, surprising situations... its so well liked that it continues to be produced today and has also many film versions produced.

The study and edition of the work is owed to José María Díez Borque, Professor of Spanish Philology of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
